- Yet another MUI hater, for no good reson. If MUI is such a memory HOG, then how
- come MUI can run on a 2 meg Amiga with INET-225 and a Web Browser, or FTP or IRC
- program at the same time? The days of 512K 68000 Amiga's are long gone.
- MUI is quite fast on my 030/50Mzh system, doesn't use that much ram at all, I
- use quite a few MUI programs, and many at once, Multi programs running at once
- use even LESS memory then a non MUI program!!!
-
- For what Miami needs MUI for to configure the software, it's just fine. Using
- some other GUI is not going to Make the program All that faster on SLOW Amiga's!
- MUI is just the GUI, what counts is the Main program behind, that is doing all
- the work. MUI for a Browser can be slow on a slow Amiga, but for a TCP/225
- program, it's not a big deal what gui he happens to use. I've tryed out the
- Install program and it's quite FAST! I havn't had a crash from a MUI program
- for quite some time. A very long time in fact.

-
- My brother was saying all this crap about how Connecting to the Internet on the
- Mac was a Pain, unlike using American Online, well he just got a ISP today,
- Picked up the Software, Clicked on Install, that was IT, Everything was already
- setup for the ISP, the Number. Easyer to setup then it was for American Online.
- You look at AmiTCP for the Amiga, it's a nightmare for most Amiga users. People
- keep asking the same questions over and over again.. it's just not EASY to
- setup, it's hard, plain and simple, almost mad me wish I had a MAC, or a
- PC. Gezz, Miami is so SIMPLE to setup. a 8 year old could do it!
- It's even SIMPLE if you want to use SLIRP or TIA! It does all the hard work for
- you. With the Easy to configure setup, and the LOW price, Unlike AmiTCP, don't
- know about INET-225, this can get a great many Amiga users onto the Internet.
-
- Last but not least, there's full PPP support, no need to go and pay for the
- ppp.device. It'll support all the latest ppp stuff. So not only are you saving
- a lot for the High cost of AmiTCP, but also the extra cost for the registered
- ppp.device.
-
-
- All I can say is, wait untel it's Released and try it yourself. I mean if you
- get this BAD impressions on MUI programs because your using beta versions, what
- can you expect. AmIRC and AmFTP are Crash Proof. The versions on AmiNet.
- If you were using Beta before hand, well what can you expect. Same goes with
- AMosiac which was/is still beta, and even Ibrowse is beta. I've never had any
- problems with any mui program that has ever been posted on Aminet when it was
- finally Released in NON-BETA form.
-
-
- Ya, you just hate mui because it's mui, no other reson other then it's mui.
- Other GUI's use just as much memory and can be just as slow on a slow amiga and
- other amiga gui's that can do most of what mui can do.
